Daily Fleet Operations Checklist
A daily review is not a meeting. It is a short look at what is running, what is down, and what needs a decision before the afternoon gets away from you.
Morning
- Which units are available, parked, in the shop, or out of service
- Which drivers are working and whether anyone is uncovered
- Overnight messages: breakdowns, no-shows, or shop updates
- Appointments already on the calendar for today
Midday and close-out
If a unit goes down, write it down with the next action — not only in a group text. At the end of the day, list trucks still in the shop and what has to happen tomorrow. Tomorrow’s owner should be able to pick up the list without a briefing.
Owners who only hear about problems after a load is late usually do not have a daily list. The checklist is the list.
Use this as a workflow aid. Your company may keep additional records depending on how you operate.
